Gem State Alpacas Vision Statement:Our vision is to maintain a select heard of Huacaya alpacas that are recognized for demonstrating lasting fineness, consistency, and density on a frame that meets correct conformational qualities.
Values and Goals of our breeding program:- Lasting fineness with suppression of guard hair- To maintain a herd of alpacas whose micron remains 20 or below
through the first three years of age regardless of fleece style (Vicuna
to Merino to Silky), and 23 micron or below through adulthood
- Consistency of the fleece across the entire body
- To achieve a 5 pound skirted fleece weight on adult alpacas
- Correct conformation
- To provide ongoing education to new and existing clients
- To be an active member within the alpaca community
While we are well on our way to achieving our goals and meeting our vision, we remain excited about the future of our breeding program and the alpaca industry as a whole.
